When we first moved into our house I thought it wold be so fun to have a painted all black room. I was not brave enough to paint a large room so I chose our powder bath. It turned out super cute but the only problem is the lighting in there is horrible so it has just ended up looking super dark (which is the risk one takes when painting with black). So this room is going to be another guinea pig for my other fascination with wallpaper. I want it to be something happy and bright. But maybe dark with a splash of brightness would work too?!!! Let me know which one of these lovely prints from Target you like best!!! They are all under $100 which is the best part!
Or you can simply tell me I am crazy and it is fine the way it is! I love all your input!

Oh and I had to throw this little beauty in from Anthro it is so fun!

If I was single and did not share a house with a man who is scared of anything pink, purple, and floral my whole house would be wallpapered in the last one from Anthro.
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to see!
I'm sort of digging the two wallpapers with bird cage motifs!
ReplyDeleteI love the black and white in picture 4, love love, xoxo
ReplyDeleteI actually love how vertical stripes look in a powder room, they make the room look bigger. these wallpapers are so pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteOh no, you are scaring me out of painting my bathroom black. Although 3/4 of the wall is white tile with lots of natural light which should help.
ReplyDeleteAll of those choices are cute. I'll leave it to the experts ;)

Loving the Antro one! Too cute. I think your bathroom looks lovely now but I can see how it could be troublesome...
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a fabulous week! xo
The black does look great. BUT for the bathroom, I would go for the lighter choice of the first one or the one with character with the bird cages. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteI love anything gray, it's my new favorite color!
ReplyDeleteLove the black but if you want a change I think the damask with the silver metalic look would be a super change and neutral so towels etc could be changed for pops of color.
ReplyDeletethe 1st,4th and 3rd to last are my favs. i love the idea of a patterned wallpaper in a small powder room!

ReplyDeleteI like it all black, but completely understand your dilemma. What if you painted the area by the mirror a different color or only wall papered those walls? Maybe it would brighten the room up and look great?
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, my favorite wall papers are #4- branches, #8- white & shiny, #9- white swirly things.
OMG! I am just going to narrow it down, so here goes #1, #2, and #3. Sorry, I'm sure that's not much help! They are all so fab!!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! We just did one wall in our family room as a feature wall. We actually used the curvy paintable wallpaper (your #9 pic). We love how it turned out! It's also cheaper at: http://www.grahambrown.com/us/product/17583/Curvy%20Paintable%20Wallpaper?show=
ReplyDeleteI have a great recommendation for a wallpaper installer if you are interested. Good luck!
I am leaning towards the little pink birdie {like your Marilyn poster} but I also love that vertical black and white branch one although might not help with the lighting situation.
ReplyDeleteThat was a brave move! Hey you could recreate the
ReplyDeletewallpaper option number 5 by creating a pattern using stencil and painting with a different sheen of black (either mate or glossy) - I think that would be quick, easy and fabulous! Best luck with your project!
all of these are so fun, yet so different! its hard to choose! i also adore the whole dark powder room theme, but im totally drawn to that last wallpaper from anthro! so fun and girly!
ReplyDeleteyou know what, I'm really liking it as is!! Little green notebook just posted a veeery similar room, and it was tres chic!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to wallpaper, I'm a total osborne&little addict, have you seen their pompadour-collection?? I actually think Vaujours would be perfect for your little room. It's totally maximalistic and fabulous: http://www.osborneandlittle.com/osborne-&-little/pompadour-wallpapers/wallpapers/vaujours/
(I'm SO needing to use that wallpaper for a project, like SOON)
this is a really tough choice, but if you are saying you want happy and bright i would say....
ReplyDeleteNumber 1
Number 2 or
Number 6

I like #5, the black swirly damask looking one. It looks chic and will give you the effect you wanted with your black paint, but maybe lighten it up a bit since the light will bounce off. That's just my opinion. ;o)
ReplyDeleteI think #7 with the bird cages would look great with your house, but I really love #8 to. I think with the yellow accessories you have in there now, it would be perfect. These are from Target??? I didn't know they had wall paper?
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of wallpapre in the bathroom. It's on my to do list as well. I really like the first choice, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat's the great thing about paint...it's not permanent and it's easy to paint over or wallpaper over. It looks like you have some great choices!
ReplyDeleteI love the one with the birdcages and the pink bird!! I think it would look amazing in that powder room!
ReplyDeleteWe painted our powder room navy and I LOVE it. So, I'm partial to your black bathroom. Have you considered changing the lighting?
ReplyDeleteBut, I don't think you could wrong with wallpaper either. That gray birdcage paper is pretty fabulous.
i love #7.. the grey one with the birdcages.
ReplyDeletevery hard to choose, but i really love #6 ! great blog btw :)
ReplyDeleteI like the wallpaper in pictures 4 and 5! All of the choices are great!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Target had such cute wallpaper. And it's affordable!
ReplyDeleteOk first I have to say "Your crazy!! It's perfect the way it is!!" Now that i've said that, if your going to add wall paper or replace the black all together with wall paper, the one with the bird cages and the pink bird would be the one I would say "Yep, this looks like something Leah would have" ;)
ReplyDeleteI love both of the bird cage ones!
