Monday at My Home

Wow it's Monday again? How did that happen? Time goes by so fast!

But hey it's Monday at My Home so I hope this makes your Monday come a little easier! Or so I would like to think!
I was wondering how I was going to afford these gorgeous lamps from Marshalls, but I realized I could take back the lamps I had gotten there for my birthday. We never used the lamps because they were so bright they hurt your eyes, which defeats the purpose of having lamps. The people at Marshalls were so sweet and let me exchange them for these beauties!
For some reason lamps are just something I forget about but have no idea why, I think they complete a room so well!

I also thought it was time to give our bookshelf a little attention. I got fun wrapping paper, yes wrapping paper, and used some tape and put it on the backside of the bookshelf. Not too shabby huh? I turned the books around to make the bookshelf look less busy and pull more attention to the paper but my Mom said she thinks it's disrespectful to books so I will probably switch them back!

Are you really surprised I moved the cowhide? It's now in the family room. The constant perfectionist in me can't be satisfied plus how else am I going to squeeze in a workout?!

That's it for this Monday!

  9. So funny- I'm always moving things from room to room too! I love your new lamps- they are perfect for the space. I was thinking when you showed the room before that lamps like that would be great. I like your mom's attitude toward the books, they're probably up there in the shelf right now chatting to each other about how rude you are! Ha:)

  18. I love the paper on the back-this is one time when this mom will allow disrespect. LOL!

Did you have to trim the paper or was it wide enough?

  19. I think the paper looks awesome but I think if the books were turner around with the spine showing it would add more color and tie in well with the paper and design. :)

  22. I do adore paper on the back of bookcases...in fact just bought some over the weekend to do my own.

And I love lots of books in them...some may say not, but books are amazing, and lots of them just show that the person who owns them is a genius.

    =)

  24. I love that idea. I've been wanting to do the exact same thing to the bookshelves flanking our television in the living room but I've been putting off spending the money on wallpaper... It would make my picture frames pop.
Where did you find that gift wrap? It's adorable.
