I love your ideas to change the tile and add more trim to the mantel, which I would love to do in the future. For now I was really just wanting a quick fix! I would love to get a whole new mantel someday but I really gotta pace myself. : )
I decided to paint the mantel and leave the screen alone for now. It is the quick fix I was dreaming it would be, so bright and cheery!
(I chose to paint the mantel instead of doing the laundry while the babies were sleeping... I know I am so bad but this is so much prettier!)
My you are fast!!! I have done more Christmas decorating instead of cleaning while babies nap! Oh well! Looks awesome. I love it white. Good call.

wow! What a difference a coat of white paint makes! Looks great. I love quick fixes!
ReplyDeleteLove the white mantel, I would grab some tile paint in the same colour and paint those also.....very fresh. a couple of little black jars on the mantel to keep the vent from popping out visually.
ReplyDeleteI will be quiet now as it really is gorgeous without all the things I just said.
I am having a give away if you want to pop over.
THIS LOOKS SO GOOD!!! You were quick with getting that painted :)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Aren't you quick! I knew whatever you decided would look fantastic! Great job!

Love the white! So pretty and of course I have always fancied your mirror. =)
ReplyDeleteI am so just like you. If I have a project in mind I have to get it done t-h-a-t day or else I'm all jittery about it. I think it turned out great. It flows a lot better being white than it did black. And p.s. I'm soooo jealous your little girl still naps. Ainsley just stopped and it's killing me!!
ReplyDeleteI really love that mirror and the white makes such a huge difference! Love it. XX
ReplyDeleteFAB! completely fabness
ReplyDeleteAh, you did it! Looks soooo good, hun!
ReplyDeletehaha but a new mantel piece is way more satisfying than clean laundry!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how different the area looks with the paint. It's so you! Now that is using nap time to the fullest.
ReplyDeletegood choice and i love how quickly you finish your projects. i wish i could be more like that!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Gotta focus on one project at a time right?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely love the white!
ReplyDeleteGreat decision!! You can never go wrong with white !
ReplyDeletecertainly did the trick! hey, you should also look around you for places that sell vintage fire place mantles. i have a place near me that is to die for, complete fireplace facades, taken from old homes, doors, clawfoot tubs...a girl could go completely gaga! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe white looks perfect! Isn't it amazing what a little paint can do!
ReplyDeleteOh, I missed the original post, but I LOVE what you've done with it!! I'm a sucker for all things white, it really turned out fantastic! You're such a go-getter!
ReplyDeletei love it! i am so glad you left the screen black :)

I didn't get to weigh in earlier, but you did what I would've suggested! And I, too, have spent many a naptime decorating when I should have been doing dishes!
