Tada!

Yay Evelette's table is finished! I am so pleased with the way it turned out! I was going to do the pattern all over the table but when I started to do it I realized it was going to look really busy. So I figured because the table is so low that the pattern is showed off in just the right amount. Let me tell you, it doesn't look that hard to do but my back is screaming! But just seeing her playing on it is well worth it!

Sweet

Happy Sunday everyone! I thought I would post a few pics real quick before church of my sister's new desk area. I started a new support group for her too.... Make A Decision "Anonymous". I helped her choose this darling lamp out of two that she couldn't decide between. She is way better than me at taking her time returning things she doesn't like and making sure it is exactly what she wants. Me on the other hand I can usually tell if I like something right away. When I go shopping I usually walk through the store and if nothing grabs my eye I will walk right out. However with Goodwill I like to dig sometimes. : ) What kind of a shopper are you?
Isn't my sister's new desk area darling? Way to go sis!
P.S. Sorry I haven't been to all your gorgeous blogs lately! This weekend has been really crazy but I can't wait to show you the table I have finished and all our little adventures!

Aha moment

Sorry everyone I am such a spazz sometimes. I asked you all for your advice on what to do with my daughter's new table, then I had one of those light bulb moments that I was just like that would be the coolest! I have totally considered the chalkboard paint and the black and white. But somehow when I thought of doing pink and light pink chevron stripes I knew that would be perfect! It is going to be very challenging but very cheap and that's a must!
However if it goes south, that is the wonderful thing about paint you can just paint over it. This is a picture of fabric and it is pink and white but I wanted to give you an idea of what it would look like. Do we love this?

One thing to change it all

See our lovely new kids table my mom brought us from the GW? (That's what my family calls the Goodwill) Pretty hideous right?!!! Hello I am going to paint it of course but it has me a bit stumped. It has been almost two months of blogging and one of the things I love about it is, how you can ask people's opinions and you get a ton of feedback! Love all the different ideas that come in. So I need all of your wonderful, beautiful, refreshing, and needed advice again. What do I paint this little treasure and can a leave it right here in the middle of the room? I can't think of any other place to put it. If you have been to my house in person this might come a little easier to you.
The one idea I have had is to paint the table a chalkboard black paint that Evelette could draw on and then paint the chairs a different color like perhaps yellow. If I did yellow though...

Would I need to add more yellow to the room? Like new yellow and white striped curtains? Ikea sells pretty affordable fabric to make them.

Would yellow stripes look okay with the whole room? A little circus like? It could go either way cool or crazy.
Help people! I am open to other color options too!

Check it out!

Yellow and black oh how I love you

Yellow and black is one of those color combos that is so glamorous I just can't resist it!

Decorating ideas

One of my favorite magazines latest issue was jammed pack full of great ideas so I just had to share them with you all!
Check out these painted tin cans attached to the wall, great for holding random sewing items!
Adore this laundry room.

They painted small frames and attached them to storage boxes and used them for cute labels.

Love this wallpaper put in the back of a built in bookshelf.
They cut out these birds from wrapping paper and attached it to a mirror. I love this! So pretty!

Touching up

Here are a couple projects I worked on yesterday....
I spray painted an egg carton and am using it for an organization tray in my pencil drawer. I still would like a cuter pen/pencil holder but it is definitely looking better.
I finally put a couple more layers of cork liner on my jewelry frame. Now the jewelry won't fall off in the middle of night and scare us to death! Hubby is very happy about that!

Rock and roll

You all know how much I love Gwen and her style so when I saw this pic of her and her family today I had to show you! Such a cool fam! (check out that tongue on Kingston!)

The bold and the beautiful

Yay the chairs are finished! Here is a picture of them before...
Here is them after....!!!!
As you can see I like to take shots from all angles so you can get the whole picture. : )

I painted the chairs three coats of white. Then hubby stripped the old fabric off.
This is the chair after the fabric was put on.
Hot hubby working.
Here I am hot gluing the trim on.

Messed up actually Nesting Newbies (crazy yes I am) : )

I received a sweet surprise in my email today, a preview of Nesting Newbies next issue!

See stripes really can go anywhere!
Loving this room with it's modern blue chairs.
Check out that Lucite coffee table!

Happy Friday

I thought I would leave you this week with a little inspiration from one of my favorite patterns, black and white stripes. Speaking of which, those chairs my husband and I have been feverishly working on are almost finished! I just have to glue the trim on and they are done! Make sure and check them out on Monday! What is everyone up to this weekend?
