I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend my Luvs! Jesus truly has blessed me this year with a beautiful baby boy, a precious and growing daughter and the most incredible husband anyone could ask for. I am truly blessed! And I am also thankful for all of you, with your words of encouragement and support. Thank you!
Monday at My Home actually takes place on my parents farm this week. We took family pictures a couple of weeks ago on the farm and I think they turned out very cute!
It's Wednesday people and it's time to stock my style icon, Gwen Stefani! Here Gwen and and her older son Kingston are running to a birthday party in L.A. (If only we all looked so chic running around town!) The thing I am loving the most on her is her jacket and bag. It really is amazing how a couple of items can really punch up an outfit. Now where in the world can I find a cheaper version of that bag?
Some people might call me fearless or just plain crazy cause I spray painted our gorgeous antique lamps black! I would have to agree with the crazy. ; ) I really just wanted to tie in the black more in our formal living room and I think painting these black worked (fortunatley). Have a fabulous Monday my Luvs!
The latest Lonny showed off their features editor, Robert Leleux's, Manhattan apartment. Which truth be told I thoroughly enjoyed! These different amazing homes that I see in magazines and online never cease to amaze me. Which just goes to show that I am in no way a designer. They always seem so thought out and complete. I however just fly by the seat of my pants and sadly you can tell. So the lesson I am going to learn? Come up with a complete plan for a room and then set out to accomplish it. That way I don't just go for whatever catches my eye.
What kind of decorator are you? Do you have a plan or do you just go by your feelings?
I have had a love of handbags ever since I can remember. Heck I even used to make a little extra mula hosting purse parties! And you know who makes really chic and durable bags? ... Ya you guessed it, J. Crew! LOVE them all!
This Naughty Nook has been one of those decor riddles that I couldn't solve. But last week I had an "aha!" moment.
I could not get my husband to let me paint this buffet that is under our stairs (thank goodness he is my best editor). The piece is just too dark for the spot and it really needed a punch of color to lighten it up, so I was really trying to think of an alternative solution. So last week when I was looking in our linen closet, I spied these curtains that I had made but wasn't currently using. I thought "Hey maybe I can use these to drape over that buffet"! So I took three of them, laid two on the outside and one over the middle and it actually kinda looks like a tailored table skirt. Don't cha think?
I got this London canvas at Marshalls on clearance!
I have been spying with my little eye this really cool room divider at the GW for a few weeks now. It was, in my opinion, really over priced but I was patient and watched as they marked it down every week. This past week I finally asked if they could mark it down anymore and they did! Plus I got another 5% off with my Goodwill club card (okay so it's my moms but I still use it)! Love me a good deal! I originally dreamed of covering it with fabric but then ended up spray painting the whole thing black and then add a little gold detail by painting the center diamonds gold. Before.....
