Yay the chairs are finished! Here is a picture of them before...
Here is them after....!!!! As you can see I like to take shots from all angles so you can get the whole picture. : )
I painted the chairs three coats of white. Then hubby stripped the old fabric off. This is the chair after the fabric was put on. Hot hubby working. Here I am hot gluing the trim on.
WOW they look amazing. I can imagine people would pay ridiculous amounts for these beautiful chairs. well done. very impressive. thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. I love your blog too :) xx rofflear.blogspot.com
Those chairs are awesome! Your style is so the opposite of mine, but I absolutely adore it! It inspires me to be a little more creative :) Have a wonderful Monday! ~Kiri
i cannot believe how amazing those chairs came out. you guys did such a fabulous job!! my eyes popped at the afters. i love the detailing at the top of the wood on the chair frame, it pops out more painted white. love, love, love! :)
they look terrific with the rest of your furniture. nice job...i would never think to tackle a job like that-did you just staple the new fabric and glue the trim?? your stripes line up so well:)
Alison- Richard stapled on the new fabric after the old fabric was removed with an air compressed staple gun (strongly recommend) and then I hot glued the trim on. Richard is always the one to hang pictures and that sort of thing up perfectly so I am so glad he was such a great help putting the fabric on. I don't think I would have done near as well without him! Hope you had a great weekend! Love you all!
great chairs! and i'm in love with the green you chose for that credenza in the background. i have an antique buffet i've been thinking of painting green- this is just how i hope it will turn out.
Leah... those look absolutely FABULOUS! your living room is super adorable! I'm such a sucker for stripes... I have a pair of chairs in an almost identical black and white stripes and I feel they make such a statement! Well done!
OMG, you just made my heart skip a beat!!! I LOVE them! You're soo good. I need to do the same, pronto!! (I have two chairs like that as well that's been sitting in the basement forever)
Oh my goodness these look AMAZING! They look like you bought them straight from the furniture store. GREAT job! They look wonderful in your living room!
Be still my heart, a girl after my own heart, Black and white stripe!!!! My favorite. They turned out beautifully and they make the room. You must be so proud and happy with what you have accomplished. I am still trying to tackle the antique rocker, I definitely have a love hate relationship going on with it. I posted the fabric I am using and you can see it and the trim but the chair gave us yet again another problem but we have conquered it and we are on our way. Happy Monday!! Kathysue
Those chairs turned out amazingly! I am so impressed that you did them yourself! I want to re-upholster an ottoman I have and you have sold me on striped fabric!
Leah...fantastic...what an amazing job both you and hubby have done on those chairs..Good skills I say!! Your home is looking fabulous...so many changes...youve got the knack lovely x

Wow Leah! You've got quite the following now!
I would love to sit in one of your chairs and stick my toesies into that fluffy rug of yours. Love it!
i wish i could email you because i have so many questions!
i just found 2 chairs (practically identical) to yours on craigslist for a steal!
i've been searching for months for a pair, but now that i've found them i'm worried about recovering them. then i remembered this post!
i wanted to know if you did them yourself (if so, how did it go?!!). or did you have it done?
if you have a moment, let me know!
yours look so great! xoxo
Beautiful! Could you possibly post a upholstery tutorial?
