Resolutions Day 3

Hey y'all! My name is Carly, and I'm the author of Honey and the Moon. I'm a full time student, a wife, and a momma to two sweet puppies. Thank you so much to Leah for the opportunity to post at her fabulous blog.

Well, the topic here is New Year's resolutions, and when Leah first brought up this topic I was a little concerned because I had no idea what my resolution's were going to be this year. Luckily, it came to me quickly. I'll show you a few images to better explain.

What do all of these cute little things have in common?

They're all DIY sewing projects! Isn't that shower curtain so chic? And that framed initial would be perfect for a nursery. The apron, perfect for a housewarming gift! The only problem?...I have no idea how to sew. I come from a long line of seamstresses, my grandma being very talented with a needle and thread...but not me, I barely know how to sew a stitch.

So my New Year's resolution this year is to learn how to sew. I have no desire to sew anything magnificent, but I'd love to know some of the basics, enough to complete simple DIY projects. Easy enough, right?

Well, I hope you join me as I follow through with my resolution, and I hope you keep me accountable to it too! I'll be sure to detail my learning, mishaps, and successes all at my blog.

Thanks again to Leah for having me at her blog! And as Leah would say...

Luvs! x

Resolutions Day 2

Hi I'm Keely from luxe + lillies and I am so excited to be here today for lucky miss Leah while she is in Hawaii!

When Leah asked what our new years resolutions were, I began to think of many things that have meant so much to in the past year, because I've never made new years resolutions - I simply don't really believe in them. I think its really important to set goals and strive for them rather than make a resolution to something and get deflated when all doesn't go according to plan...

Life is so full of ups and downs, and for me, the past year has been full of amazing blessings - one being blogging...

The support and love from the blogging community is immense, and has given me successes in many ways.  I'm a firm believe that those who wander are not lost. Blogging inspired me to make something of my creative talents...

and so luxe + lillies became something more than a space on the internet for me to share my inspirations and little projects along the way...

with some luck along the way, a lot of hard work, and all the red tape, luxe + lillies is an official business!

I'm so grateful for all of the people who have been there a long the way, and in 2011, I plan to give myself to building this little business into what I have imagined for it. Making lasting and valuable relationships with clients. Inspiring others towards success with the creative projects I complete for them, and acting on some of the ideas I have had stirring in the back of my mind!
