New Diy project

After yesterday's post and googling over how gorgeous that nursery was I had a decorating aha moment. When we did Evelette's big girl room we never put a new light fixture in because there was nothing that really caught my eye but after seeing that gorgeous bid cage light in that nursery I was like that's it!!! And what's more is that I could make it myself. I love the idea of a black one to add a bit of edge to her room and after looking briefly on ebay there are some definite options.
Wouldn't these be cute?

The light fixture, the rug, the art wall, the curtains, the crib and bedding!I also love the modern/grown up chair and lamp. It's the type of nursery that will be really easy to transform as the baby grows up.

Ya cause it's from the Goodwill! I have not been to the "GW" in a while and I am so glad I did cause I found this cute sequined pillow for under $3! All it needed was to be popped in the washer on the hand wash cycle and it's as good as new! I really like how it sparkles in the morning sun.

Monday at My Home

Over the weekend we had my sister give Evelette her first "haircut" which was really just a trim because she has such little hair. Needless to say I was a tad emotional but her hair looks so much better without scraggly pieces. Thank you sis for making it a little easier for me!

As for our home this Monday. I just have a couple little things to show you. I feel like my diy's and redo's have taken a backseat to my mad nesting. I have slowed down a bit lately because I have felt more tired but I am still pressing on.
Remember the deer head that hung over my desk? Well it now has a new coat of spray paint and a new spot over Evelette's bed. I think it was just the thing that was missing.

I apologize in advance for showing you yet another picture of my new desk area but I just had to show you this adorable block calendar from The Paper Source. I am excited to have Evelette learn her numbers by helping me change it everyday. I also got a mousepad from this Etsy shop to protect the surface of the desk.

I heart

After all is send and done and with all the delays of our couch I still very much heart West Elm. When we purchased the sectional we decided to open a credit card because for every "some certain amount" you spend you get so much back for spending money there. So with that spending money I am trying to narrow down just what I would like to spend it on. There are so many options so I am having a very difficult time!

I really love these hive vases. There is something so earthy about them and I think flowers would look gorgeous in the white ones in particular.

I have been on the lookout for a new shower curtain for Evelette and baby boy's bathroom and I love this one that is very gender neutral. Plus my sister has it in green and it is stinkin cute!

Ever since they came out with these "spider web" gold and white plates I have wanted them. I had them on my wish list for last Christmas but they were out of stock. I like that you can dress them up or down.

Grey and brown Zebra?! LOVE!

And lastly, I absolutely love this chevron duvet set. I still really love the white duvet I already have from them so I think just a pair of shams would really add a lot to our bed.

So many choice! But I love them all!

Drool worthy glamour

I was flipping through the little online teaser for the current issue of House and Home and after seeing this room I want to buy it! I love the simplicity of this room, it reminds me that you don't need a ton of flashy accessories to make a room sparkle.

Raging mad!

So maybe I'm not "raging" mad but a bit miffed I would have to admit. So here I am thinking "the" sectional is going to be delivered today, because they told me that was the estimated delivery date after delaying it twice, I then called to check up because I hadn't heard anything. Well they said they have two parts of it but they are waiting on the third! AND that it isn't "supposed" to be shipped to the freight company till the 29th and it usually takes a week after that to deliver. We have already been waiting for over 3 months and I feel like a very impatient child at this point. They did actually say they were going to give me some compensation this time so that makes me feel a bit better but at this point I just want it to be here. So now I guess it will be another 2 weeks. If I didn't like the couch so much I would cancel but we have waited so long already and I LOVE it!
Thank you for putting up with my ranting you guys. You are the best! Has anyone else gone through this? I know it is probably not that uncommon but it's still so frustrating!

Okay enough of that let's talk about Silky Way an Etsy shop selling ikat fabric, pillows, and scarfs. What I love most about them is that they are affordable and they have a great selection.

I may just have to order some of this black and white ikat fabric. It is so gorgeous!

Monday at My Home

Good morning my sweet Luvs!

Are any of you melting in crazy heat? Well if you need a break, we have been having the weirdest summer here in Oregon, mild and rainy. But I have to admit when I hear how hot it is in other parts of the nation, I am not complaining one bit! Especially when I am eight months pregnant and have my own heater built in. ; ) Today however the sun is shining and I think Evelette and I will spend as much time outside as possible!

On another note, I have decided that I need a new camera. My pictures are always so disappointing to me, I can never get the lighting right and the quality just isn't there. I think I will put that on top of my list for Santa this year, it will be especially nice with baby boy coming and all. Any recommendations?

Fun huh? I love how clean the space feels now, I think it's important to have a space that doesn't feel restricting for inspiration.

I personally love a super unique dresser. Whether you use it as a dresser, buffet, or entertainment center it really is best if it stands out.
These dressers definitely catch the eye, in the best possible way!

Charming

Every once in a while I have to share a favorite tour of mine from Apartment Therapy and this little living area was certainly one of them.
The apartment definitely has a charm to it. The layering of old and new with the mostly black and white palatte is truly classic.

I love how the side chair just has a blanket over it. It really changes the look of the chair without having to reupholster, a great quick fix for sure.

Check out those vintage dresses, I suddenly want to read Great Gatsby!

This sweet and simple work space is really motivating me to finish mine. Really can you go wrong with black and white?!!!
