I got the ok!!!

Yay it finally happened! After months of going back and forth whether or not to pay someone else to do it I finally got the okay to do our kitchen! Yippee if I wasn't so sick I would do cartwheels!

Thanks to this Do It Yourself magazine where it gave great directions for painting cabinets yourself. Therefore saving us a whole lotta mula.

The main reason we decided to do it ourselves. (better alternative to hours of sanding.)

Hopefully it will look something like this...
Okay probably not even close. But isn't this kitchen gorgeous that Jen from Made by Girl transformed?!!

They have a liquid de-sander basically?? Wow!! That definitely would make things easier!! Can't wait to see how your kitchen turns out! After all the other kitchen renos we had this past year, we couldn't afford to refinish our cabinets. But if we stay long term in this house, I definitely want to! And it's way cheaper to do it yourself!

We repainted our cabinets, and they were the wood laminate. We used specific primer and sprayed them. We remodeled our kitchen for $700 too :) You can check out our kitchen remodel here: http://newlyandbecky.blogspot.com/2010/05/kitchen-remodel-reveal.html
Good luck & can't wait to see what you decide to do!

Great tip on the de-glosser - i'm running to buy that issues today! lol

After I posted about our kitchen yesterday -- my husband said ok we really need to do something about our ugly kitchen, lol.

Hopefully along with paint new counters are in our future and eventually matching appliances

Good luck!! We painted our cabinets a few months ago.. went from one painted color to another, so didnt have to do the gloss sanding, but it wasn't too hard. Just takes a little patience!! Can't wait to see the results :)

YESS!! I can NOT wait to see how you do it. We painted our bathroom cabinets (started small), but are you supposed to paint the inside of the cabinets too?!
