My Naughty Nook

Not that kind of nook people! ; )

The nook I am talking about is the naughty nook in our entry. It's this awkward hole in the wall that is being used as a wet bar area. I am really trying to think of a way to make it more appealing to the eye. I think I may have finally figured it out, curtains!

I forget sometimes that you can use curtains in places where there are no windows. I think that it may change the apperance of the nook opening and really warm up the whole space.

You know me and my bold taste I was thinking some diy yellow striped curtains may be my ticket.

I was thinking about curtains, too. What a fun idea to use striped yellow curtains.

Another suggestion would be leaning/ hanging a fabulous oversized mirror to close up the nook. Then, the look and the design will seem more intentional, don't you think? I am not sure about the measurements of your nook but something like this might help.

Just a thought. Can't wait to see what you will do with it! :)

Fun! The stripes would be great. Another idea would be to put a bench or something with a striped cushion and lots of pillows. I bet you little girl would a fun cushy little space.

I actually really like the way it is now, with the little wet bar tucked inside the nook. It looks like the alcove was put there on purpose. Covering it off with curtains might make it stand out moreso... i like it as is! Cool place for a wetbar!

i too like it alot the way it is. i love the angle of the cut out in the wall and curtains might change the dynamic of the space. if you are really unhappy with it, you could add a wall treatment around the cut out space on that flat part of the staircase wall. like vinyl? there are so many fab wall treatment places and that might change the space without covering it up. because it's actually a sweet space! oh...i just had one more idea, you could paint the interior of that entire space a different color? even a bright color? to make it feel separate and unique from the staircase wall? just a thought? even a bright yellow, something like that?

sorry for all of the comments but i was just at belle maison's blog and in her last photo of today's post, she featured an angled wall, similar to your staircase with vinyl treatment. check it out here: http://www.bellemaison23.com/

I like the bar idea a lot. I'm unsure about the curtain. A little book nook would look sweet too.

You crack me up! Only you could get away with saying the things you do... ha, ha!!! I love what you have in the nook, so classy and pretty, but maybe you can add a little Leah color via painting the back wall or with curtains, ETC. Love you...
