Monday at My Home

I am sort of hesitant to show you all what I have been up to in my house lately just because it is mostly a work in progress. We spray painted the amoire and the new wicker chair this weekend and they both turned out pretty great. I still have to do some finishing touches so you'll have to bare with me!

I am thinking that these handles would be perfect from Anthro

Honestly my dining room makes me want to scream!!!! It has been a place in my house where I don't know what I want and it just never looks right!!! The wicker chairs I think are really fun but I would love to replace the rest of the chairs but don't have a clue what I want! Help!!!!

The dresser looks great, it has great lines! For your dining chairs, since that table is a bit heavy I would go for something more feminine with the chairs. You could do this either with the chair shape or the fabric you choose for it. I think a pop of color for your dining room is in order too!

the armoire turned out fab! did you use gloss or semi-gloss, i've been debating this? i just got those handles at land of nod outlet for 25cents each, in a mint color! i love them.

WOW, you did great, those wicker chairs are awesome!!! would you change the other chairs to lighter neutral colours? and the armoire looks amazing, and the handles from anthro would complement the whole look nicely :)), can't wait to see the finished product :)) happy monday!!! xoxo

Hi Leah!

I love the armoire, it looks great! I agree about replacing the dining chairs (except the new, funky ones!) And add some of your signature color! I love the rug and gold accents. This room looks kind of bohemian to me. Is that the look you're going for? If so, I think that would be fabulous. Just give it some time, I'm positive you will come up with something beautiful! Have a great day dear :)

I agree with every single person above! lol. The armoire looks amazing, great job! You should take a look at apartment therapy's flickr site and just browse everyone's dining room. You'll get some really good ideas there. I think the only thing your dining room needs is to replace the red leather ones for something lighter (as in, not heavy architecture). It's a wonderful room!

I can only imagine how you feel with teh room unfinished. I love, love, love, the armoire. I say, make the chairs a little airy to balance of the the details of the table - looks like you are bringing it together though!!

LOVE the dresser...and did you say spray paint?? I didn't know it could look that great! I agree about the dining room-the wicker chairs are so awesome...I think you need something more simple for the other chairs. Maybe something black with clean lines and a pop of color on the uphoulstery! Like a deep purple-regal like the chandelier!

The armoire looks great. I like the handles on it, but the little ones from Anthro would be great too.

I think the wicker chairs look good in the dining room, and I agree that the rest of the chairs should be replaced. Are you planning to keep the table a natural wood color or are you considering repainting that too?

Hey Leah..great work!Your magic touch will come for your dining room! I would bring in your lovely white and black stripe chairs you did yourself and put at the table to give you a guide what would work at the table. Before you get your spray paint out again or redo you dining room chairs.Have fun.Sinead x

The armoire looks great and the wicker chairs are fantastic. I agree changing out the other dining room chairs. I can envision white chairs w/a bold fabric as a seat cushion. You'll pull it off with whatever you decide!

Everything is looking great! Those wicker chairs are so dramatic. :o) If you want some input on replacing the other chairs, maybe some of those neat lucite ones? That way they are simple but still fun, you know? Something like this:
