When can I move in?

It is time to move the family! Why the move? Well because this place just needs us! I love the old and the new touches, the clean and feminine touches. I just love it all!

I adore this desk area. This is my problem, I love more modern stuff when I look at pics like this, but I have realized I have no real modern furniture in my house. I am too scared to commit to stuff that might go out of style in a couple of years! Should I take the plunge and go with more modern dining chairs? But then I wouldn't be able to get them at the GW for dirt cheap and redo them myself!!!

Here's a bonus pic for you! It's a shot of Richard and I in Vegas! ( I am using my hubby's computer and found this on here) Awwwwww!

I am LOVING this home too!!! And yes, I say go for it and get a modern desk! It has clean lines and it's not "so" modern that you couldn't use it for many years to come!! I like mixing modern with classic pieces!!

Go for it girlie!!

Aw, you two are so gorgeous! Together and separately! That home is really so comfy isn't it? I think you can safely blend modern and traditional pieces together. Give it a go!

I'm always reluctant to go with trendy or modern pieces when it comes to the high ticket ones. IMO, it makes more sense to buy trendy accessories that are less expensive and doesn't give you pangs of guilt if you give them away in a few years.

What a great apartment! I love the wall color and the lamp. You should def go for some modern pieces. I feel those things really balance a place and add a little edge. Even if you don't use the dining chairs forever you could find another place for them like a desk or hallway, even a powder room!

Oh yes, very nice house and love the way it's decorated! So is this a house on the market? Was it staged for viewers? LOVE that Louis Ghost chair, I'm getting one for our desk/computer area!!

Awww!!! Look at you at the hubby :) I am desperate for an "office" area, but I'm afraid to commit to a desk, especially since I'm still renting. I feel like I should wait to get any furniture until we buy a house!

You might have to make some room in your new home... My husband, 2 dogs and cat would also like to move in! ;)

go ahead, splurge on the modern chairs. i know what you mean though...i have been eyeing eames-esque chairs and think to myself: are they going to be totally out in a year? but i love mixing vintage with modern-it's my fav!

That modern desk is from West Elm so at least you can get it for a decent price! Oh, and there is definitely a difference between "modern" and "contemporary." The "modern" pieces (Eames, etc.) that have become classics will never be out of style! So I say GO FOR IT. ;-)

The home is beautiful! I love your fruit bowls and desk area. My fruit bowl has bills in it, and the fruit never makes it out of the bag. Lol. Oh, don't get me started on Las Vegas. I go there so often, I might as well get a second home there.

What a great picture of you and your husband! So cute. And the house pictures are amazing. Love the harp-back dining chairs. Can we move in with you?! :)

I love the colour of that dining room table and chairs!

I think "modern" chairs would look great in your dining room because they would create a perfect contrast to your traditional table. The acrylic/ghost chair featured in your post is "modern" but it is mostly traditional due to its louie lines. Therefore, these chairs are not trendy and will not go out of style.
