Drama Queen

I can be so dramatic sometimes! Sometimes my head wants to decorate but my body is tired and my head isn't giving me any aha ideas! Therefor I crown myself drama Queen every once in a while.
It doesn't usually take me very long to get an idea and execute it. And if it does take me too long I usually give up or move on. I am such a goal oriented person that I need to be accomplishing things in a timely manner. Are any of you like this? Oh well even if it's just me, I guess God made me this way for a reason.
Anyways, with all that said I have not come up with a seriously bright idea for this wine holder/bird cage thing. So for now it is sitting by my desk for extra storage. It is kind of nice having extra space on my desk I have to say. I did try putting fabric around the bottom of it, which I had no idea how to attach it and it may just have been the wrong fabric because it didn't quite go. Any thoughts my lovelies?

Well, i must say that it looks pretty cool as is! But if you wanted to change it up, you could think about making it a color that pops and then adding accessories to contrast the color...

I agree with Kiki.. maybe paint it a really fun color, and then I absolutely adore the accessories you chose from Z-Gallerie! It would be such a cool take on a little bar, and those peacock accents would really jazz it up! I know whatever you do will be fab!

First of all I really do love your birdcage! Think you should keep it right there and use it to storage all kinds of happy things! Love your white apple, her sister is right here in the Netherlands on my desk ;o)
Wishing you a lovely weekend. xx

I think it might be better suited placed in a more prominant spot -- in front of a window or light colored wall, preferably, to show off the lines of the piece. It's sort of lost with that curtain right now.

If it were me, I'd fill it with wine bottles on the bottom (or even flavored water) and put decanters on the top with a couple of glasses.

I found your blog through 6th Street -- you have lots of pretty pieces!

I am the same way. I will live with something "as-is" for months until I come up with the perfect plan for it. You'll figure it out and in the meantime it looks fabulous where it is. By the way, love your blog. You have inspired me to start one myself...give me a visit when you can.

Best,

What about spray painting it white or even black and then adding new hardware (even though the hardware on it is already nice)? I don't know, white or black might really add a lot!!

i love the look and the storage it frees up in your desk — well done! since it's a more traditional shape, i would add a little contrast with a coat or two of bright paint. it seems like you like pink (who doesn't?!) so it might be fun to add a little pink and modernize the bird cage piece in the process. i can't wait to see what you make of it!

Gunnar is the goal oriented person in my family I'm the craft oriented person. I like the idea of it being a exstention of the desk area.

I do like it by your desk. Look forward to seeing what you come up with. And yes if I don't finish something up it usually bugs me to death! Have a great weekend Leah!

Great idea Leah! It is a very clever extension of your desk area! You can get things done like very few people can!

Well I think it looks great where it is! But I'm anxious to see what you end up doing with it :)

And I go craaaazy when I have an unfinished project {even if the husband says it still looks like it's finished}.

The gallery wall in our guest room has been bugging me for weeks and I finally rearranged it today. I wish I'd done it sooner!

I think it looks great next to your desk as is! But if you want to change it up, what about spray painting it white?
