Happenings

Hello my sweet lovelies! I thought I should check in and let you all know whats going on here. I had a dnc yesterday and was at the hospital for a good part of the day. This whole experience has been the hardest thing in my life, but I know God can use my testimony to share with others who are struggling. I have complete faith that Evelette will have a sibling. I mean I have four adopted brothers and they are God's special gift. I think adoption is a beautiful thing. We were going to adopt anyways, so the plan hasn't really changed. I am excited to recover and heal and get back to trying cause I ain't no quiter!!!! : )
You know I haven't been feeling the greatest when I (Leah) have projects piling up. It's so not in me to just have unfinished things lying around! So I thought I would share some of my ideas. Again you guys need to tell me if I am CRAZY becasue I have been on some meds!
My absolutley amazing Mother (who can find anything at Goodwill, seriously she should start a business) found me a matching wicker peacock chair at the Goodwill aka "GW". I am thinking of putting them at the end of my dining room table. Should I keep them black? And if not what should I paint them? This is part of my master plan to give all my burgandy chairs to my Mom who loves them. I thought I could replace the other ones with something young and fresh (maybe from Ikea).

I was thinking that maybe this fabric would be cool for curtains in here?

My amazing big sister who is pregnant no less, delivered this amoire to me the day before yesterday. And the thing is solid wood and heavy! My husband was out of town this week and she took it upon herself to get it for me. Thanks Sissy!

Another shoutout to her she made me the pillows I wanted to make from that Premier fabric. The light blue chevron one. I love how our couch looks right now with all the blue! Thanks sweetie!

Luvs!

Glad you are getting back into the swing of things and healing yourself. I love those pillows you got for the sofa. The fabric for the curtains is beautiful, so if you go with that I think you should paint the chairs black. Be sure to check out craigslist for chairs. Sometimes I find Ikea furniture is a bit small for an american sized home, but you never know how something will look!

Hi Leah, you are seriously a source of inspiration!! Adoption is a beautiful thing and is something we're considering too! It's good to hear you're jumping back into the swing of things - I love the peacock chairs and the fabric you're considering for the curtains!! I think the juxtaposition of the peacock chairs w/something from ikea would be so cool!!! You go girl!

Wow, your mom CAN find anything at GW, she has skills!!

We have 1 baby, he's 9 months, I had a very hard delivery which resulted in not being able to get pregnant again, so we're going to adopt in the future so Baby~Lu has a sibling too. Adoption holds a special place in my heart. God will bring your children to you! xoxo

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better...and you have a great outlook which is what really counts. The peacock chairs will look great with anything that is a complete contrast...so, something from Ikea is a great idea. The accent colors in the fabric will look great in your dining room. I can't wait to see what you end up with.

I love the chairs with the dining room table, and I love that fabric for the curtains. I think both chairs painted black and those curtains would be just gorgeous!

I can't find a good picture of it online, but if I remember correctly, Tori Spelling did curtains in a similar style in her home. I saw it on her family's television show.

Great ideas! And best wishes on your recovery.

Leah, you are such a wonderful person and more importantly Maman. I always get such happy inspiration from you because you are able to admit that some days you're down. But you always manage to see the brighter side and pick yourself up and keep going. You're such an inspiration! Hope you take some time to recoup and recover. It's okay to pamper yourself! You seem to give alot to others.. Lots of hugs to you, get well soon! You are so blessed to have such an amazing family!

It's good that you have a positive out look on things, and that you recognize that feeling like yourself or not, life goes on and you're moving right along with it! Your home is so beautiful, and your family just as beautiful for all their thinking of you and great finds! Head up, you'll be better than fine!

Leah,

Hang in there girlfriend. Thanks for sharing your struggle and being brave with your faith...now take another pill and let's discuss these wicker chairs! I say keep them black. Looks great with what you've got in there and you can mix it up with the other chairs you select.

RE: the pillows on your sofa - your sister made those?? The woman has SKILLS! And delivering that big ol' fabulous armoire while pregnant? - trooper!!

Have a great weekend and take care,
Carrie

I'm so sorry, that has to be a horrible thing to have to go through. On a lighter note- I love the idea of that fabric for curtains and I think the chairs would look fantastic black. Athough I could see you painting them a shocking unpredictable color too! ;)

Oh Leah, my heart hurts for the sad road you have been walking. Trust is the key, though. Trust me, the pain does fade and a new, deeper walk with Him takes it's place.

It feels silly to jump to the topic of the chairs from that, but since you asked... ! I think a deep peacock color would be so totally smashing and "apropo" for those peacock chairs!

Love you hon.
